A Brief Introduction: The town of Brunswick is a vibrant, diverse community of more than 22,000 citizens. Brunswick's quality of life is steeped in its sense of place: a place to live, to recreate, to learn, and to work. Home to Bowdoin College, Maine State Music Theatre, Brunswick Naval Air Station, Mid Coast Hospital, Parkview Hospital, and many other prominent businesses, Brunswick is home to close to 16,000 jobs in the Bath-Brunswick labor market. These jobs are diverse in nature, ranging from:
Brunswick is a full service community with a town council/manager form of government. The downtown, anchored by Bowdoin College, is a traditional New England center featuring services, retail stores, restaurants, and a farmers market. The public school system is highly regarded, meeting a variety of needs from K-12. The Town of Brunswick operates the Brunswick Industrial Park, that, with a recent expansion, has 4 lots ready for development. Public water and sewer is available throughout the growth areas of the community, enhancing the ability to build and create within a built environment. The Town is currently seeking to locate and develop a new business park. Brunswick is blessed with a fantastic natural resource base. To its south, many of its own marine bays empty into Casco Bay and the Gulf of Maine. Between the Bay and the Androscoggin River are many open lands and traditional residential developments. The Brunswick Topsham Land Trust is active and has secured the preservation of up to a dozen parcels of land, including the Crystal Springs Farm. Through the middle of community runs the Androscoggin River, which empties in the Merrymeeting Bay, a fantastic estuarine environment.
